About Me

When people pursue their values, strengths, and interests, the world is a better place. That’s what I believe. That’s what I call feeling Most Alive. And that’s why I coach.

My Coaching Experience

The first job I poured myself into was my first coaching job, as a collegiate baseball coach at my alma mater, SUNY Fredonia. I still remember the tearful, “thank you,” I got from one player at the end of his last game, and my own tearful reaction to another’s “thank you” when he received Athlete of the Year honors after our final season together.

I decided coaching sports in my college town wasn’t my life path, so I bounced around a bit before landing at M&T Bank. Before long I was using coaching skills as a manager, having employees tell me during 1-on-1 meetings that I should be a therapist because of the depth of listening, connection, and meaningful goal-setting we’d do together.

While I had a good career going for almost a decade, I found myself more frustrated than fulfilled every day and stepped away. Coaching whispered by again, when as a soul-searching career-changer, I had friends decide to start a business as a result of conversation during a casual catch-up lunch we shared together.

That soul-searching ultimately led me here, combining my corporate experience, mission-driven passion, and research on what drives well-being to start Most Alive: coaching people on strategy as the bridge leading their vision to reality. It means a ton when clients tell me I’ve been “instrumental to the growth of [their] company,” or when they’ve highlighted what they called my “incredible gift for making a vision into a strategy, and that strategy into reality,” after our work together.

I want to help you turn ideas and dreams into action and reality. I want you to get results.

My Transformation Experience

In the course of my life, I’ve gone from a corporate entry-level position to a senior leader over an 8 year career in customer-focused process improvement and strategic execution, then from frustrated senior leader to an entrepreneur pursuing the life I want. I’ve worked hard to move from depressed to feeling good. Hell, in college, I went from a below average hitter to a conference batting champion. Every time, it’s been the result of hard work, proven strategies, and help from other people. And every time, I’ve turned around and passed on what’s helped me to others.

You’re already doing the hard work. Let’s complement it with proven strategies for getting results. Let’s help you help more people. Let’s calm your chaos and finally connect you to the meaning and impact you crave.

Brand Origin Story: Following Curiosity

In 2021, a therapist helped me see that following our curiosity might be a good way to live. So what was I curious about?

At first, I didn’t have an answer. I lamented that others had their ‘thing’ and I didn’t.

In fact I wasn’t sure I ever would, because picking one passion meant ruling out all the others, and that terrifies me (still in therapy).

But then the idea hit me for how to embrace that: why not create a podcast where I talk to all different people about their different passions? You know, the type who light up when they get going about their ‘thing.’ And maybe it could grow to have a video element, where I travel all over the world, meeting new people, trying out whatever their hobby or skill or love is while simultaneously showcasing it to others, so we can all grow and experience more of the variety this life has to offer. Cooking? Guitar? Tribal dance? A science experiment? I’m in.

That felt like a life I’d love to live. The concept of asking, “What makes you feel Most Alive?” and the brand around it was born.

The podcast lives on as an oft-paused hobby and I’d like to evolve it. Aside from that, in 2023 I decided my professional career was no longer the type that aligned with the life I wanted to live. I stepped away without a plan, but with the belief that following curiosity and centering around who I am was the way to go. That led me back to the Most Alive brand, and for the first time to the thought of how it might mesh with my professional experience.

So here we are. I believe we’re Most Alive when we light up with our passions. Mine is helping people see, do, and feel that. I think we should all make our living being ourselves and doing what we love. Whether we work together or not, I hope you do more of what makes you feel Most Alive.
